Opt for a mosquito repellent. This is an odorous solution or device intended to deter mosquitoes from biting you, thus protecting you from the diseases they transmit.

What is a Mosquito Repellent?
The skin application solution is the most common form of mosquito repellent. They are applied either by spraying or by hand distribution on dry, clean skin. They are removed with water with light friction, or if necessary, with a damp wipe. In addition, they are often active against other insects likely to transmit parasitic diseases, and some savvy hikers even use them to prevent leeches from leeching! For less invasive options, there are also clothing sprays and scented candles to repel insects and avoid irritation from bites.

With its fragrant and natural touch, it’s easy to fall for the Cinq sur Cinq repellent which comes in two small bottles that fit in your pocket. One for the body and the other for clothing. A single light application to the arms and legs is enough to protect you for 6 hours. In addition, the spray is cool on contact with the skin and the solution is sweat-resistant. However, the generous spraying means that you have to carry additional bottles for long trips.
Before purchasing: Choose the right mosquito repellent for traveling!
For an effective repellent, you must first take into account its active substance. We much prefer natural ones like REPEL Lemon Eucalyptus which is based on lemon and eucalyptus essential oils. We then rely on the duration of effectiveness of which that of chemical repellents is the longest; but we opt for low percentages of active substance for greater safety. So, we take the Sawyer Premium repellent for those who prefer picaridin, and OFF! Deep Woods Dry if you tolerate DEET. Then, we choose the sprayers and sprays for easy application. Finally, for greater comfort, we prefer scented repellents which are also less aggressive on the skin. Some repellents like the Avon Skin-So-Soft Bug Guard Plus contain anti-UV sunscreen, therefore doubly functional. And, if you stay in houses more, treat yourself to the REPEL Citronella repellent candle.

Finally, my opinion and my conclusion
We often worry about serious accidents that can happen to us when we are traveling, but underestimate the serious diseases transmitted by insects, including mosquitoes which affect millions of people each year. Repellents are therefore essential for any traveler, especially those who go to the tropics where these critters abound. However, choose your repellent according to your tolerances to the different active substances, especially if you are traveling with children who are often more reactive.
